Hey all!
Our plans for the 27th are really shaping up. Our storage facility is nearly full--we must have well over 500 items right now and more coming in daily. Last week’s great donation was a gorgeous kelly green Kate Spade trench coat. I tell you, I am beyond impressed with the quality of items we are receiving. There is something for everyone--from Size 2 – 20. Everything is in perfect condition from Ann Taylor to J. Crew to Talbots to Valentino.
Tickets are on sale now at http://www.one-mission.org/. Click on the news and events tab to purchase. You can also purchase directly from any One Mission Market Place committee member.
Speaking of committee members, I want to welcome two dear high school friends to the team-Liz and Laura! Both have already brought more enthusiasm to the group as well as more great raffles.
Raffle-wise, we have lots of fun ones planned. Plus, we will be giving away a Kate Spade makeup bag and 3 Coach wristlets that we purchased-just for fun!
Along with the great raffles and door prizes, we will also have complimentary makeovers from Face First Boutique as well as a few other vendors to purchase items from including custom Vineyard Vines bags!! Check out the picture-aren’t they adorable?
It looks like the rain is finally clearing. I hope with all the bad weather, you had a chance to clean your closets! Drop us a line at Kerry.melavin@one-mission.org so we can coordinate picking up, for more ticket info etc.
Be well!

One Mission Market Place
Save the date and your clothes!
Hey all! Response to our fundraiser has been tremendous already! I thank all of you who have been in touch, cleaned your closets already, signed up to help, donated gift certificates etc. The team is really excited!
Let me first introduce you all to the One Mission Market Place team. Most of you already know me! As Patrick’s mom, I have lived first-hand what so many families are experiencing right now on the 6th floor of Childrens’ Hospital. I have walked the same halls, prayed for the same things and wondered how we would manage it all. We were blessed by so many during our experience, that I was honored that Ashley-the esteemed founder of One Mission, asked me to be a Board Member. With no further ado the rest of my team …
Maura - many know her from our carepage as MoMo-Patrick’s godmother and the one to come up with initial idea for this event. She is also one of my oldest friends. The first to be at the hospital that horrific day, usually the first one I talk to in the morning and the last at night! She’ll be the one to keep this event on time and on budget!
Michelle & Cindy - not only my work colleagues, but more importantly my friends. Soon as I mentioned I was starting to plan something, they were the first to say “What can I do?” They have been this way since I first met them and I could not be more grateful. They are my marketing girls! Michelle is also our resident photographer and technical genius. I would have no idea how to get this blog going without her. Cindy - well, ladies when you see all the high-end designer goods – think Burberry, Prada, Valentino (yes, VALENTINO) - she was the one with the connections and drove to Connecticut to retrieve!
And last but by no means least – Lisa. She has one of the hardest jobs of all - she is one of the pediatric oncology nurses at Childrens. She took care of Patrick - including giving him any type of sugar she could find on Halloween along with his chemo. More important, she was a friend to me when I needed it. Did I mention she also has a toddler and another on the way very soon?
So, that’s my team. We have a few more I am hoping will join the team and as they do, I fill you all in on their fabulousity as well!
We’re hoping you’ll follow our blog all summer long. We’ll continue to update on all the great stuff coming in. Seriously - this past weekend we moved everything from my living room to a storage facility. Right now, I have probably close to 300 items. Everything is in mint condition, lots with price tags still on them. All this from only about 10 people so far. Imagine what we’ll have by September?
